The Challenge

BCA Logistics required a virtualization solution that would provide remote access to Windows 10 desktops, applications and web browsing for employees connected to the business network. The IT decision-makers were in search of fast, effective ways to use Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) to publish applications and desktops to BCA Logistics employees servicing customers who wanted to participate in used-car auctions in the UK.

The Solution

BCA Logistics decided to implement Parallels® Remote Application Server (RAS) in order to attain a more secure remote desktop experience. Apart from enabling BCA to deliver secure access to remote desktops, the Internet, and applications, the company was also impressed by the overall simplicity and user-friendly virtualization features offered by Parallels RAS.

The Parallels RAS HTML5 gateway enabled BCA to access remote desktops and applications without installing any software on end users’ devices. The Results

As a comprehensive virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution, Parallels RAS enabled BCA Logistics to deliver secure access to Windows 10 desktops from remote PC hardware. BCA was able to secure corporate data more thoroughly, significantly cutting down on hardware costs. The company was able to put off upgrading hardware by running the Windows 10 desktop from the private cloud network.

Additionally, employees benefited from increased mobility, with the ability to choose when and where they complete their work. Furthermore, BCA implemented a bring your own device (BYOD) policy that enables employees to access company resources—such as work-based email accounts, shared applications and data—on the device of their choosing.
