Fisher & Company Deploys 2X ApplicationServer to Significantly Reduce Administration and Software Maintenance Costs

Dallas, Irving, Texas, May 29, 2009 – 2X Software Ltd., the international developer of virtual computing software solutions, announced today that the 2X ApplicationServer solution has been successfully deployed by Fisher & Company, a Michigan-based car parts manufacturer, enabling the company to reduce server administration and operational costs by 86% overall. Kevin McDaid, network administrator at Fisher & Company, explained that his previous Citrix-based remote application publishing solution had a “$75,000 initial product cost,” not including “an additional $11,000 in annual maintenance fees.” In contrast, using the 2X ApplicationServer solution cost the company only “$12,000 including maintenance fees,” providing significant savings for McDaid’s company IT budget. Additionally, McDaid notes that compared to his previous Citrix solution, using the 2X ApplicationServer means his “servers can go a lot longer between reboots, and I can add more users to each server,” providing significant server operational savings, as well as reducing the administrative hassle of maintaining larger server farms.

Even while providing significant cost savings and increased efficiency, the installation and day-to-day use of the 2X ApplicationServer at the company has been entirely non-problematic. McDaid comments that in contrast to the “two days required to install our nine Citrix servers, resulting primarily from Citrix-required policy updates and modifications,” the 2X ApplicationServer solution setup was quick, with product installation taking “only six hours.” The ApplicationServer’s superior performance has ensured that “all users have been able to map to their local printer without any problems,” even though a majority of the company’s employees occasionally work from home in locations all over the world.
